Well as stated I'm into my 5th ton and we got 3 months to go. Looks like a 8 - 9 ton winter. Still at $240 a ton it is cheaper than my proane furnace.... This summer the new hood and ducting willgo in :)

YIKES! :gulp: And I was concerned that I'm into my 3rd ton already.....LOL

Yikes is right. I'm only 11 bags into my 3rd ton also.

You must really be heating some sq. feet! Or its really cold up there!

Have you applied to the pellet pig club?

I think you'd be a shoe in!!!

Ouch!

Jay, you answered your own question....He lives in Northern Ontario CANADA.....LOL

not so big... 2000 sq ft bungalow but it's been a cool winter -28C or -18F again tonight. On the bright side I 'topped' the propane up at Christmas and so far this winter we used $200 @ .73/liter which isnt much. Just use the gas fireplace on the real cold nights upstairs to supplement the pellets. I'm thinking that if I can sell the EF3 for a reasonable price I'll put a maxx in for next winter.

Burned 4 tons already? are you sure your not living at an open aired stadium? My Bungalow about the same size here in mass. just finished it's second ton running 24/7 since Mid Nov. prior on and off in Oct.
Using an EF2 insert.

My stove is usually cranked, well not cranked but is is always 72 to 76 in the house and I have only burned a little over two tons here in Maine. I have been burning since October.

house is insulated well but we have had a severely cold winter here. The furnace 'may' have come on - if it fell below 16C or 60F at any time but I doubt it. The only propane we've used like I said is for the fireplace upstairs. Next winter my ducting will be set up better.
As for comparisons in climate....our stove has been onsince mid October and been running 24/7 since late October with at most 2 days where the stove wasn't humping out at 80% on the auger feed.
I'll dig our temps for January out but I bought my last ton January 5th and the 5th ton last friday so we only got 3 weeks out the last one.

I just checked out the Maxx and the Omega last Saturday. Both stoves looked well built. I settled on the Omega, Gave me a heck of a deal too! I figure if the pellets dry up I can burn just about anything. Pine horse bedding pellets if I have too!

Try to stay warm up there!

I love the Omega but its a little up the price scale from the maxx - pellets wont be an issue here

into our fifth ton also and heating 2000 sq. ft. with an omega running 24-7 at medium high. About 2 bags a day
