new guy here, figured I’ve been leeching for 6 months I better post some helpful content. Bought a 2011 PI1010 last winter (2022) that was “used for one season and then kept in a barn” inspection prior to purchase revealed this to be likely true. Cats were in decent shape and the fire brick was newer. Purchase price $1,000. Bypass was loud as sin, I took it apart to use brake lube on squeaky parts, found the cable to be corroded and oxidized/brittle and almost worn through. Replaced with 3/32 galvanized cable. (Part fully assembled cost $71, I did it for $12). Here are the pictures of the project.
