Help with stove adapter for 30NC wood stove

At least with the dvl, cutting is prohibited per the instructions so that would void the ul listing. Not sure on this ventis brand pipe.

I was told trimming the inner wall in this case is acceptable.
 
Here are the ventis instructions. There is not much detail in them at all. There training was much more involved.

I think common sense would rule, at least in my house hold. Dont care what the UL says.

A 1" sliver of exposed single wall as compared to full double wall when on the 30 the rear shield not only mostly shields that, but also the shield acts as a convective blower against it I see no big deal.

Yes but those who write the listings and codes have actually tested this stuff to see what is safe. To me actual testing over rides "common sense"
