Just looking for some feed back on this problem we just ran into on our new stove. We purchases it and got it setup in mid October of this year at our cabin. It was working great for the first 2 months until we noticed the control knob seemed like like the first part of its travel wasn’t as responsive and felt like the flap maybe was not adjusting etc. few week later I was up again at our cabin and made a fire and went to turn down the thermostat and it felt like there was no resistance, went to tire it back the other way and it was just spinning at this point.
With a fire going I wasn’t to excited about not being able to control it so out came the tools and off cane the back panels. After removing it I found that the rod going into the flapper box had backed out and the retainer nut had also back off. After spending 2 days trying to get it to reengage the thermostat I gave up. I called both the dealer and Bk and they said there going to ship me the parts but it’s been 3weeks. At this point I’m not very happy with my purchase/service. Anyone else have this same problem?

Other problem I’m having is trying to get the knob off the rod. I’ve removed the set screw and have tried a channel lock and pliers and wedging a screwdriver against the bracket and knob but haven’t had any luck getting it off.

Sorry for the rant, just upset.

3 weeks seems like a long delay. Did they say if the part was in stock or not? Give them a call on Monday to see if the package shipped or not and if it got lost during the holidays.

I called about a week before Christmas, they told me I should have the part just after Christmas. Called last week on Monday and they didn’t ship it yet then blamed it on doing inventory etc and there busy season. Claimed to be shipping soon. Not impressed to say the least. If the parts not here this week someone is going to get an ear full. I just really want to have a working stove.

Please send me a PM with your contact information. Include name of dealership in PM. I will look into this tomorrow morning.

Wow what a customer service. I am waiting almost 2 months now for an ash guard, for my Lopi cape cod.

I think you are right. If I knew what I know now when I bought my stove I would have went with Blaze King, even if it meant getting the rather ugly princess.

Not trying to offend anyone I know that a lot of time the ugly girl is a better performer....

The Princess is simply not very photogenic.

The princess does grow on you though and there is more than one princess model. I find the ultra model much more attractive and conventional looking than the others.

Oh that ash belly.

My Princess blends in with the surroundings so well that no one even notices it. Again, before I bought one, I only saw pictures (not so good pictures). One point I went to see it in a show room, I thought it was ok looking (much nicer than pictures). Once mine got installed I actually like it a lot.

Due to this forum I was sold on one regardless how unattractive it would have been in a real life.

Parts showed up today. Thanks blaze king. Hope it all goes smooth with the install this weekend.

BKVP is more than a user name in this case!

If you have a BK problem, you should contact your dealer or BK support, but BKVP does jump in when there's an issue that isn't resolved that way (as you can see from this thread).

I think if he was the first point of contact for every user complaint, he'd spend 80 hours a week telling people that they have wet wood, and I would never get my prototype Super King at that rate. :(
