This is from two felled trees at a residential home in Pueblo, Colorado. It is already down, cut and split. Am not sure what kind of wood this is. Anyone know from these pics what this might be?

I don't know, But it looks like east coast rock oak. Has a tight growth rings. Should burn real nice.

Looking at the last picture you can clearly see the light and dark bands in the bark. That is elm. If it is split take what you can, that is decent firewood. If it's not split, you've got your work waiting for you. Hopefully you have hydraulics.
Crack that round open and post some pictures of the grain, looks like Black Locust to me.

Last pic looked like black locust to me but I also thought some kind of elm based on the bark pics.

Another vote for elm. The cross-section of bark shows characteristic light/ dark layering, plus epicormic growth, and what appears to be dried staining from wet wood would be consistent for elm too.
Hand split some of it. That will tell the tale - elm: stringy and tough to split; black locust: easy to split and very characteristic pea/ bean aroma.

I really wish we could see a picture of this split open so we can see the grain to make an accurate ID!
if it was in a wood pile around here, I would say black locust, but I don't know what all grows up in Colorado.
It drives me nuts when people post on here for ID but when you ask them to split a round open so we can see the grain so we can ID it nothing happens, it's like they just disappear off the face of the Earth!
I want to see this grain as it now becomes a "quest" for us to ID it, I hope the OP sees this and can do it for us and so he knows what it is too!

Yes, this one is very quiet at times. But I would think if someone wanted to know a proper ID they would whack a piece open and post it so we can try to help which is what we are trying to do....plus I want to know myself to see if I was right or wrong lol !!
