My neighbors have this for sale. I plan to build or remodel a cabin/small house in a few years .... I didn't know anything about Fisher stoves until I started looking into this particular stove. Is this a "real" one or a knock off? Any thing to be aware of or concerned about or avoid? Is $250 a fair price?
Thanks!

Yes it's real, and an early one before they changed to the plated spring (that one is stainless) and 5 fin draft cap.
Prices fluctuate with area and season so its value is whatever buyer and seller agree upon.
It doesn't look to be used hard.

If I needed one I'd pay $250 for it.
I have the same plan as you, buy or build a small cabin . I came across the one pictured in my avatar and paid $100 for it. It needed cleaning, painting and firebrick which totaled another $60.
