(back) Subject: Pellet Stove without electric From: "Coosa Stove & Fireplace" <[email protected]> Date: Fri, 15 Sep 2000 10:00:41 -0400 Is there a pellet stove out there that can be used as a back up heat = source when the power goes out? I have only found stoves that need electricity = to feed the hopper. Toni Bahn Coosa Stove & Fireplace

R3500TR-$527.00, R4500TR-$603.00, RCAST- $552.00 I know that a lot of HVAC firms would be extremely happy to sell these units for $650.00- $750.00 installed, on jobs that they are currently doing the HVAC. In their eyes, a one to two hour investment could net them an additional $50 or $75 on the job. This could translate into an increase of the bottom line on a particular job by 10%, or more, while the Specialty Retailer (by the way, didn't the Specialty Retailer build Heat-N-Glo, Heatilator, and Alladin?) could suffer more casualties. At a previous PHCC meeting, I actually heard this distributor telling an HVAC contractor to send his customer to the local Heat-N-Glo dealer to see the product "cause it's identical", but not to purchase there because you must hold an HVAC License in order to install, and service these units, and "I'm sure that the customer wants to buy from somebody that can safely, and legally, service what he sells". My opinion is this, and it is worth the paper that it is printed on, don't dwell on the mass merchants to the point that you do not see the entire market evolve. Remember that these other channels also have challenges that are both similar to ours, and some that are unique to them. While I really believe that there will always be a place in the market for the specialty retailer, the one's that thrive will be the firms that have the ability to see the entire market, and evolve with its changes. Just my .02 worth. --=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D_-1243084709=3D=3D_ma=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Content-Type: text/enriched; charset=3D"us-ascii" I received a flyer from an HVAC supplier in town today with a special on Royal Fireplaces.
