(back) Subject: This should be easy... From: "Sue Kalish" <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2000 22:19:32 -0400   The HEARTH Education Foundation staff is looking at brochures for logo stickers and patches to provide to those who become certified as a way to promote themselves to their customers and local building officials. Before we make a decision on what to order, we'd like your input. So, please..send us your thoughts. Would you prefer a patch for your clothing or a sticker (for your truck?). If you prefer a clothing patch, where would you like to put the patch on your clothing (on your sleeve, above your pocket?) and how big should it be? Any special colors? What about the name of the certification you hold? Does for example, "Certified Fireplace Specialist" work for you or would you prefer to be called something else? We would like to give the entire program a new name to provide prominence as we talk to building officials and customers. Do you have a suggestion for the name of the certification program? How much would you be willing to pay for additional patches or stickers? Any help you'd like to provide will be appreciated. You may email your suggestions to [email protected]. Thanks so much - and enjoy the last days of summer.

Alternately, does anyone know of any = 18" logsets to fit a vent-free 36" box that can be purchased for around $100? Discontinued models would be acceptable.   Fran Marengo, [email protected]
(back) Subject: cheap logs.... From: "Ed Fackler" <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2000 22:20:43 -0400   WELL, NOW, I'VE SEEN TWO REAL GOOD ANSWERS TO THAT PROBLEM, FRAN, ABOUT THE CHEAPIES BUT YOU'LL HAVE A HARD TIME BEATING ROGER'S. I HAVE LIVED( AND PROSPERED, TO A DEGREE) WITH THE THEORY THAT THE CADILLAC DEALER DOESN'T REALLY WORRY TOO MUCH WHAT THE USED CAR DEALER DOWN THE STREET DOES. THEY LIVE IN DIFFERENT WORLDS, FOR THE MOST PART. DON'T WORRY ABOUT $75 GAS LOGS. THERE'S A HEADACHE IN EVERYBOX! AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT $85 BUILDER BOXES. IF THEY DON'T BREAK YOU, THEY'LL DESTROY YOUR REPUTATION AND " THERE IS NO WRATH ON EARTH WORSE THAN THE BUILDER WHO BEAT YOU DOWN ON PRICE AND THEN WANTS YOU TO SOLVE A SERVICE PROBLEM". AT YOUR EXPENSE, OF COURSE. EJF.
