Malcolm ([email protected]) is looking for a company that will export wood stoves to New Guinea for basic cooking and heating water. Please contact Malcolm directly if you are interested. (back) Subject: Re: Competition against cheap vent frees From: <[email protected]> Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2000 14:47:47 -0400   Fran - There are many ways to deal with "cheap" ventless systems (aka = room-vented) - Up-sell to vented products that are best sized for the customer and = provide beauty, ambiance and heat. The options are endless. In our market, both retail and builder customers are easily moved to vented products when we listen to the customer as to his/her "real needs" in hearth products. = They ask for appearance, heat, quality, and trouble free operation. We still display ventless products, however after the customer compares the units = with features and benefits, the vented products win 99% of the time. Also "Cheap" is a word we don't want associated with any of our stores. Cheap indicates low price and low quality. This isn't the image any specialty retailer or wholesaler should portray, unless they really want = to be known as the low price and low quality leaders. "Rise above" these products!   Michael Whiteman Colonial Fireplaces
