But it doesn't stop there. A summers worth of lint, dirt, cat hair, and spider weds settling on some of these appliances will set off alarms come fall, more outgassing, and then there are all these people living in their chimneys! (back) Subject: Re: outgassing From: "Central Fuel" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 14:19:58 -0500   In response to your letter in referance to outgassing. We have always = made it a part of our sales/installation program to test burn all gas and = pellet products prior to installation. This has reduced to almost zero the problems we had experinced with outgassing, and defects in the = manufacturing process. Granted it does take time and effort, but we have found the benifits outway the negatives. We would rather pay less for our products and take the responsibilty for the problems you point out. Just our = opinion on the matter. (back) Subject: HEARTH Survey of Industry - Certification Review From: "Susan Kalish" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 14:20:59 -0500   In early February, HEARTH sent a survey to all certified specialists and HPA retailers asking them to confirm the tasks needed and knowledge necessary to plan for and install hearth products. The results of this survey will be used to review our current certification program and plan for an update. To enable as many people to complete and return this survey as possible, the deadline date has been extended to March 16. Please take the time to complete and return this survey. Not only will the results enable HEARTH to move forward with plans to review and upgrade our certification program, you should be able to use the survey format as a training checklist for your own use. If you need more copies or have questions, call HEARTH at 703-524-8030.
(back) Subject: Professional Service is Profitable Pilot Course From: "Susan Kalish" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, 8 Mar 2001 14:21:15 -0500   If you or someone on your staff is interested in learning how to teach the content of the HPA/HEARTH guidebook, Professional Service is Profitable, to your staff, your customers or your members, there is a pilot course for potential instructors being held at EXPO, March 28, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The course will be led by John Gulland, who is taking the content of the guidebook, and creating an instructor's manual, participants' workbook and audiovisual materials. This program will be about how to teach a session or workshop, not to learn the content of the guidebook. If you are interested in participating in this pilot course, please contact Sue Kalish at HEARTH, 703-524-803. We have a few spaces left.
