The = SCSA website with all program info is here: http://www.chimneypro.com/scsa2001/index.html I strongly encourage retailers to attend this convention and would like to personally invite you to participate in the seminar "Chimney Sweeps & = Hearth Retailers: Building Relationships to Build your Business". One of the = goals of this convention is to bring retailers and sweeps together to help = provide an extra work force for retailers as well as to provide additional sources for sweeps to learn more and increase their business as well. As one who = has both a retail store and a sweep business, I promise you that retailers and sweeps have a great deal to offer each other. This is a tremendous opportunity to meet some truly terrific people who love to learn and who sincerely enjoy helping each other. Here are some of the seminars going on: "NFPA levels of Inspections" (explains new NFPA-211 chimney inspection requirements) "Exceptional Customer Service - How to Shine in the Era of Mediocrity" "Staying Small in an Ever Expanding Universe" -Ahrens will give several masonry classes, from beginner to advanced = levels "7 Things to do Tomorrow to Build a Powerhouse Business by This Fall" Regency Stoves Presents "Installing Gas Appliances" Ashley Eldrige "Pressures: Causes and Cures" "Restoration Preparation & Demolition - When and How To" "DIGITAL CAMERAS: Document Findings, Increase Sales & Promote Your = Business" "Servicing Gas Appliances & Performing Annual Maintenance" "Money Makes you Stupid" by Sooty Bob Daniels of Copperfield Chimney = Supply "Pre-fab Tear Outs and Replacements" "Advanced Masonry Techniques and Cosmetic Aspects" There also is a tour of the Buck Stove factory and a Golf Tournament. If you'd like to get or renew your CSIA certified chimney sweep = certification, that's scheduled for March 14. Being a CSIA certified chimney sweep has = given me great credibility with customers and building officials over the years. If you're unable to attend the HPA and NCSG conventions on the west coast this year, this convention is a great east coast opportunity. Please = consider coming - it's a good time, lots you can learn. There are also fun = attractions nearby like the Biltmore, Chimney Rock Park, Cherokee Indian Reservation & Casino, the Folk Art Center, lots of shopping and more.
