Message from dan to industry members:
 
A few weeks ago Dan Melcon went into the hospital complaining of some 
stomach pains.  Unfortunately,  after some tests were run they found 
a cancerous tumor inside a large cyst inside his left kidney.  The 
entire kidney and adjacent tissue was removed. In addition, adjacent 
lymph nodes tested positive.  The good news was that the brain scan 
was clear (there is a significant brain tumor component to renal 
carcinoma), his white blood cell count is good, and his the other 
lymph nodes were not swollen.  He is being treated at an 
extraordinary facility, he is young, in good health, has an awesome 
support system and a terrific wife, and above all an extremely 
positive attitude.
 
He still has to undergo many tests.  He will keep us all posted. Lets 
all hope he comes out of this in good shape.
 
Please do not attempt to contact him other than through e-mail to 
wish him well (do not expect an answer).  He has many close friends 
that are in communication with him and are supporting him. He is 
going through very demanding times and exhausting treatment.  I am 
sure he would appreciate your prayers and support. However, phone 
calls and responses to e-mails would be very strenuous on him.
