(back) Subject: Query to Retailers from HEARTH From: "Susan Kalish" <[email protected]> Date: Fri, 12 Jan 2001 21:31:20 -0500   Re: EXPO - Opportunities Available - 1. HEARTH has three speakers scheduled for EXPO Education that would like to speak with some retailers about retailer challenges and needs in order to be optimally prepared for their presentations at EXPO. Any volunteers who would be willing to spend a few moments on the phone with a speaker would be appreciated. The speakers that need to talk to our retailers are: Doug McCallum, CTTI - one-on-one training tips for retail trainers Sheila Robbins - running a small business and having a life and strategies to rekindle your business Tom Winninger - low ball competitors and price wars - how to fight back By talking with a speaker you will be instrumental in making sure they know our audience and getting your questions answered. Let me know who you would be willing to speak with and I'll forward your name and phone number. It shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. (I've kept the HEARTH Board busy enough this year and want to give them a break from taking these calls.) 2. Idea-Talk Roundtable - Roundtable discussions on five topics are scheduled for Saturday morning, March 31 from 8 am to 9 am. The topics are: a. Favorite Counter-Seasonal Products b. Married toYour Business Partner c. Customer Return and Special Order Policies d. Employee Compensation e. Sharing Installation/Delivery Tips I need a facilitator at each table to keep the conversations going and help people introduce themselves. If you would be interested in volunteering to be a facilitator, please let me know. You could learn alot yourself by volunteering! 3. Finally, HEARTH is seeking people to serve as moderators for the education sessions. If you would be interested in moderating a session, please let me know. Moderating includes introducing the speakers, manning the lights, helping with handouts, making sure speaker acknowledges all questions, encouraging attendees to fill out evaluation forms and ending the session on time. People who have moderated in the past enjoyed doing so. Plus, we send a small gift after the show. Thank you for your consideration.
