Craig, I lost faith in Consumer Reports after they published a gas grill report on two gas grills. One got a high rating, the other, low. One was labeled Sears, the other had the label of the actual manufacturer. Funny thing was, I watched their manufacturing and packaging and they were/are identical. One more thing Craig. You reported my report was one mans opinion. My opinion is that your report about my report is also "one mans opinion". ________DRGRILL.

California has a three strikes law. If a contractor is caught three times without a required permit, that contractor loses his license. Think of a permit as a one time insurance policy. You pay the premium once and installation related liability is diminished. The job is inspected and this gives you and your customer some insurance that the all safety codes have been meet. It is a licensed contractors responsibility to obtain permits. It many states it is required that the contractor doing the work(or the general contractor) obtain the permits. The homeowner is not responsible for obtaining the permit. CYA-Cover Your Assets! Pull your own permits. It's not fun, it's a pain in the rear, but it is part of being a "Hearth Professional". (back) Subject: Central America From: Craig Issod <[email protected]> Date: Mon, 23 Nov 1998 15:31:53 -0500 I am making an exception to my normal policy and sending an email note that was passed to me concerning Central America. I have also watched with horror as this story unfolded and have been longing to help. This email provided an excuse for me to actually open the checkbook and send a donation. It's the time of year when many of us overspend on food, gifts and entertainment for us and our loved ones...it's also the time of year when we most open our hearts to those less in need. I would invite all our list members to give to the Red Cross or any other Org that is helping with this disaster. start quote: Ted Koppel's first NIGHTLINE broadcast from Honduras: the situation there is beyond horrific. Tipper Gore called it "a catastrophe of Biblica lproportion". At last count over 11,000 people have been confirmed dead. It is possible that the final death toll could even double this number. Catastrophic winds and flooding have left over one million people withouthomes. There is little food and almost o water to drink. The president of Honduras described the region as a "panorama of death, desolation, and ruin." The sick and injured have overwhelmed the region's already struggling hospitals. Hundreds of thousands have no electricity, no telephones, and are completely cut off from the outside world. The regions cash crops were almost entirely devastated. Government officials say it will be decades before the region recovers from the storm. WE ALL LOVE THE INTERNET - NOW LETS SHOW ITS TRUE POWER BY CREATING THELARGEST NETWORK OF GIVING IN HISTORY.
