(back) Subject: EXPO '98 Education From: Susan Kalish <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 18 Nov 1997 13:55:20 -0800 If you haven't already received your "Invitation to Attend EXPO '98" brochure, you will be receiving your copy soon. In St. Louis, HPA will be offering 41 different sessions in the traditional business management, sales and marketing and technical tracks beginning Wednesday, March 18 through Saturday, March 21. In addition, HPA will be offering two day-long courses, "Developing and Managing a Profitable Service Department" and "Hiring, Retaining and Empowering Employees" as part of the new Professional Hearth Dealer Program. The courses will be held Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19. See your brochure for details. I've just about concluded recruiting our speakers/presenters. There is one session where I would love to receive your input as to whom you'd like to hear or the type of person you'd like to make the presentation. The title of the session is "Competing in Today's Marketplace." The purpose of the session is to help dealers look at their company, their services, their products, to implement strategies to help compete with mass merchants, the HVAC industry, and propane dealers. Then, because of the changes to distribution trends in the hearth industry, how to stay competitive in the hearth industry. Got any ideas? Suggestions? I'd certainly love to hear them! I can be reached at [email protected], 703-522-0086 phone, or 703-522-0548 fax. No snow yet in the Washington, D. C. area but it certainly has gotten cold...
