Thanks for sharing the info about the "brown soot".  We too have heard =
those
complaints and although we warn people this might happen with vent free no
one wants to believe it so it turns into a tactful PR job when you go to
inspect.
 
I would appreciate input on the vent free in the bedroom issue.  I know
there are 10,000 btu products out there that are rated for bedroom use - =
but
vent free in the bedroom is outlawed in North Carolina.  I am on the =
border
of GA and NC - so is it safe for only those outside NC?  I personally have =
a
problem with recommending vent free in a bedroom.  Do I need to be =
educated
on the new technologies?
