The remote valve is the same valve used in a hot water heater, furnace, or gas fireplace. But in these applicances the valve is BELOW the burner. You are trying to put the valve in with the fire. The valve overheats and shuts itself off. I know several dealers that sell remote valves but none of them install. If you fool around long enough you may get it to work but by them you will have lost the profit on the last ten remote valves you sold. Let someone else have this fun.
