(back) Subject: Year 2000, and season starts... From: Craig Issod <[email protected]> Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 17:35:00 -0400   1998/1999 Hearth Season starting early...   At HearthNet, we get some early warning as to when the season will start. This past Monday we noticed a strong increase of traffic to the HearthNet server, in fact a 50% increase over the previous Monday! The traffic for the following days was also up 20-30%. This is a sure sign that the 98/99 selling season is upon us.   Traffic in our retail shop was also decent this week. I was filling in for a salesperson on Tuesday when a customer came in and clued me in on how the year 2000 bug will help the hearth industry...read on...   He informed me that the power grid was likely to fail due to the old embedded software in the system. Worldwide recession, power outages and other glitches would then occur.   I can't say I agree with all this stuff, but in either case he felt it important that he purchase a wood stove, chimney and installation in case the sh*t hits the fan. Who am I to argue?   So, stock that warehouse and gear up for that year 2000 bug...   ------------------------------------------------------ Craig Issod HearthNet at http://www.hearth.com [email protected] Everything your Hearth Desires ------------------------------------------------------ Buddha says "avoid error" ------------------------------------------------------
