(back) Subject: wood-heat.com From: "John Gulland" <[email protected]> Date: Fri, 8 Jan 1999 18:14:39 -0500 (EST) Hello again, The wood heat web site has been extensively renovated over the past week or so. This work was long overdue, but other commitments (like earning a living) have tended to intervene. The front page is here: http://www.wood-heat.com/index.htm The purpose and tone of the site have not changed -- unabashed, unapologetic, non-commercial promotion of woodburning. But there is quite a lot of new content. For example, you'll find a prompt at the top left corner of the site for the Great Wood Stove Changeout of Eastern Ontario which was launched today, the first anniversary of the ice storm that whacked the North East US and Ontario and Quebec last year. http://www.wood-heat.com/change1.htm Also, the brochure that some of us introduced at Expo last year has finally been put on line, although I don't have the web authoring skill to make it look as dazzling as it does on paper. You'll find the prompt at the top of the right column, titled "A manifesto, of sorts". http://www.wood-heat.com/gdbroch.htm Also, check out the spectacular graphic (I call it eye candy) of the carbon cycle created by an Ottawa company called Aerographics, the same folks who created the FeelGood brochure and poster. Ray Bonar of ICC/RSF had the graphic done for one of his brochures, and has kindly alowed us to put it on the site. Click on the "Understanding Nature's Carbon Cycle" button, also at the top right. http://www.wood-heat.com/carbon.htm Finally, the button called "Feeding the media" on the left column takes you to a number of articles produced by the Hearth Products Association of Canada as part of a media kit for member dealers. You are welcome to cut and paste them for your own promotional efforts, and change the Canadian references if necessary. http://www.wood-heat.com/feeding.htm That's it. Hope you find some of it useful. Regards, John
(back) Subject: rates for the State From: "Climate Control Systems" <[email protected]> Date: Fri, 8 Jan 1999 22:25:14 -0500 (EST) I need some help from California dealers in comparing rates for the State Fund Workman's Comp insurance. I have a C20 licensee (HVAC) and they are making me use the 5538 class code (sheetmetal) for my hearth product installers. I am paying up to 18.15 per $100 of payroll and they say it is going up to $22.00 per $100 of payroll. The rate for a retail employees is only around $4.00. Half of the time when they are not out installing they are out servicing or working in the shop, but they will not let me split up the class codes. Any one have any suggestions?
