Our manufacturers want to protect the territories and the livelyhoods of their dealers. They also want to be assured there will be a qualified service to backup the product down the road. I certainly can not fault them for that. But on the other hand it seems short sighted to ignore the vast market of buyers who live nowhere near a metropolitan area with a mom and pop stove shop. It also seems shortsighted to restrict free advertising! There is always going to be shopper who will buy from the source that is the best deal no matter what. If product X is restricted from being marketed via the Net, and product Y is not, product Y will certainly end up with more sales. That is their choice. I don't think you fight company X's decision. If you want to market via the Net, you find companies that not only allow such exposure, but encourages it.   Jim Butchart
