"Can you install it today?" Chimneys, Propane DV's, wood stoves. And the phones ... if only we had stocked in portable propane heaters, cookers, power inverters, even generators, we could have helped a lot of people. Fortunately our store still has power, an island in a major blackout. Highways are closed, electric poles snapped, a major emergency. Montreal, too, and most of Western Quebec is blacked out too. I would not have a vent free any thing in my house how could I sell one to someone else. But as you might know most of the equipment is made in the U.S.A and these people want universal standards. Enter big box now we have home depo stores serve yourself install yourself who cares. Soon we will have vent free. Of course we have gas inspecters but this does'nt stop or protect the dumb untill it's to late.

The Vent Free units should be factory >set and not touched unless there is a problem.   I've never considered installing a vent free, because I'm at 7000 feet above sea level, they don't work here ( the ODS turns the unit off ). By welding the shutters the manufacturers have insured that these appliances should not be used at high elevation. $.02 please. Raymond D. Goldman   With liberty and justice for all who can afford it
