I've burned prob about 3.5 tons. I have always brushed the exhaust tube, but not yet the liner. Past month have experienced igniter time out and past couple weeks lazy flame. Today the insert actually shut down and flame was poor at best. Any other signs to clean the liner or have I got enough hints with the poor performance?

The fact that you've burned 3.5 tons is enough indication. The generally accepted rule of thumb is to do it after each ton.

This is what I pulled out. There was perhaps a bit more as the vac was running as well. Didn't help the igniter timing but flame is better. The half burnt pellets is what was pushed over during start up. Most likely will put in a service call on the igniter as I think I've done all I can do.
